Edit the l2.ini of retail server... a real solution?

I saw in this forum the l2edit program to modified (descrypt and encrypt ) l2.ini but dont work fine... the game recognize the modifications...

someone know a solution for this?

the modification is ---> this line of the file

[CharacterDisplay]
Name=true
Dist=1000


to use DIST=10000 more o less
