How does this actually work? We gonna play with cloud base? Are we still able to play without steam or it's a must?

as BusterCasey confirmed, steam is just another way to download game client.

100% ploy to get new players / more $. if it fails well hey, half of the new population will want to transfer off of the server, that's atleast 50$ a head, on top of whatever runes they buy @ launch in order to compete.
A new server for new people... oh wait, you can use Magmeld or Bartz, they are empty servers with no people...
Asian cannot play this new Zaken server because they will lock, is it right?
