Is one of the reasons people use pick up toons, is because the GM's use dropped items as bait to ban people?

I know people use them with range attackers so they can stay in one spot and have the pick up monkey get the gold.

Should I have a pick up toon doing all the collecting?

some months ago everyone was doing but after really long time none was getting ban people lose the tendency
