This mainly goes out to people that play on official servers. When you write new code how exactly/where do you test it? Do you test it on a private pvp server? On your main server with a second account? What is your line of action?
I test all the scripts, live on official. If is something wrong I will get message from the script. Only I can see it, so I guess it quite safe.(safe as a bot program can be
)
Once the process got injected, you can still add new scripts or modify existing one, even if the tower is not working.
One refresh and voila, you see the script in the menu.
yesterday I've adapted a script for my kamael and it took some time and couple of modifications to make it run smoothly.
If you don't test it on the server you will be using, then there is a possibility that it won't work the same.

I am afraid of getting compromised, when testing an unfinished script it is quite easy to tell that you are a bot. If I am always at the pc while I am botting, do the chances of me getting caught lower?
I was thinking of having a 3-4 man party, but I am afraid that I will attract too much heat.
It is my first time playing on official servers and I am quite cautious.
If I get caught, will I be IP banned, MAC-address banned or are just the accounts banned?
i've got ban of 6/7 accounts

Eh... If that is the cause, then no sweat.
I already know that I am playing with fire. At least if I get burned it won't be that bad.
Are the bans permanent? Does anybody know how they can detect you on U.S. servers?

make sure you pay attention to the follow option. Don't keep the chars to close together.
